The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation increases their pledge an additional $500 million dollars over the next 10 years to fight childhood obesity in the United States. Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, President & CEO made this announcement to invited leaders, innovators, advocates and the First Lady Michelle Obama a speaker and guest at the West Side High School in New York City, an Alliance for a Healthier Generation school. For the 300+ guests and media in attendance, this pledge reinforced the need to continue to educate and inspire organizations, corporations, communities and individuals on the benefits of healthy eating, the option for an healthier life.
In addition to the speakers and announcements, the NBC hit Show Master Chefs and Junior Master Chefs produced a cooking contest for the enjoyment of attendees highlighting the option to change everyday menu items to a healthier, great tasting alternative.
